For much of the same reason that Isaiah Buggs will get an uptick in defensive snaps this week, so will Henry Mondeaux. Mondeaux stood out in his first action against the Tennesse Titans for both good and bad reasons.

A pair of penalties in Week 7 got him in a bit of trouble with the coaching staff. However, Mondeaux could be seen flying down the field on special teams. He was also thrown in on offense and laid a terrific block that took out two players on a Steelers touchdown.

With Alualu missing most of the game against the Ravens last week, Mondeaux saw his snaps jump from 6 in his first game to 19 in his second game active for Pittsburgh. As the Steelers will no doubt use a rotation of players along their defensive line this week, there’s no reason to think Mondeaux won’t see a career-high snap total yet again.

Listed at 6’4” and 280, Mondeaux has a slight frame for an interior defender, but his athleticism on the field was evident and reinforced by his ability to play on kickoff coverage. Perhaps he will earn a few splash plays against Dallas this week.
