At 8-0, the Pittsburgh Steelers relentlessness to remain undefeated has come at the expense of testing themselves in many ways as a team.

Things could not have gone better for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2020. Not in a cliche type of way or meaning, but being 8-0, the season could not have gone better.

Furthermore, on the sudden road to perfection, the journey hasn’t been extravagant. There’s no outstanding persona or group of egos that’ll be memorable in history. Although it could be tiresome to tell in the future if things persist, the discipline only cares for success.

And with that success, it had to go through various mini-tests by the week. Each lingering for an answer as the time came, Pittsburgh has responded correctly to every single of them for the first half of 2020, as they sit alone in the NFL at 8-0.

Steelers pass every current test for perfection

The Opener

A year removed since taking an ugly 3-33 loss to the New England Patriots, the Steelers return to glory started convincingly. Facing against the New York Giants for the first time since 2016, Pittsburgh would hold a steady lead throughout the game-winning 26-16. Albeit the competition not as threatening as the former, the simple question of “will we see NFL action” finally arrived, as did the Steelers in their 2020 season opener.

The Hanging Cloud

As for the team itself, Pittsburgh’s hanging cloud of “what if” still roamed. What if they never lost QB Ben Roethlisberger to a season-ending injury in 2019? How far could have the Steelers gone? 8-8 with below-average quarterback play leading an inefficient offense made it insufferable to even watch at times. And after the long wait for both parties, Ben opened his return with a 200+ passing yard performance along with three touchdowns & no turnovers, completing nearly 66% of his passes.
