The Adversity

After holding off an inexperienced Denver Broncos team 26-21 in week two, the time came. The veteran vs. the young superstar. A high-powered offense vs. an elite defense. The records were scaled in entirely different ways, favoring the Steelers, but the worry was not faint. QB Deshaun Watson of the Houston Texans marked the first real test if Pittsburgh could overcome adversity. The game didn’t sell itself short either, needing a second-half rally by Pitt to advance to 3-0.

The “Preseason”

Assuredly, as the pandemic has caused a global catastrophe, it extended its ways into sports. For the NFL specifically, it erased the majority of the standard procedures of the offseason. Without this, the wonder drew to how teams would react & appear in the beginning month of the regular season. Due to the structure & continuity within their roster, the Steelers were a step ahead of most & exposed itself to an undefeated record for the 2020 “preseason” after triumphing over the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Division Opener

Three teams 4-1 or better by week six, the AFC North was collectively off to a brilliant emergence. The matchup the Steelers against the Cleveland Browns had substantial hype for each team for the first time in what seems like an eternity but reminded everyone quickly. The embarrassment that is the Browns is also never-ending. The largest point differential on the season in their division opener, Pittsburgh, utterly dominated Cleveland 38-7.
