Without productive balance, the Steelers still moved the ball really well.

Ben Roethlisberger looked so good in Week 10 after missing a full week of practice, that the Steelers should look into giving him more vacation time. It was an incredible showing through the air in which they spread the ball around. 7 different players had multiple catches for the black and gold.

While the Steelers had very little success on the ground, they stuck with it enough to keep the Bengals’ defense honest. I really believe that after this showing, Pittsburgh can come up big through the air against any defense in the league. That is if they can keep Ben upright, and they are comfortable with spreading the defense out as they did in the second half against Dallas, Baltimore, and now the entire game against the Bengals.

The 4 wide receiver sets, with a single tight end, is just a matchup nightmare for every other team in the league. I never would have pictured Pittsburgh becoming a spread offense coming into 2020. Yet, this set is opening up things on the field in an incredible way. They keep at least one pass-catcher underneath to give Ben an option to get the ball fast if opposing defenses bring pressure.

It was a very successful day in the short passing game. Yet, it can be a tough proposition to try to force your 37-year-old hall of fame quarterback on the last legs of his career to carry your offense week in and week out. The greatest comfort after Week 10 is knowing that the Steelers can turn to a passing game and use that to put up a serious offense against anybody.
