If history has a say, the Steelers will struggle vs. Jaguars
By Andrew Falce
Ben Roethlisberger
There is little argument that Roethlisberger is playing good football right now, as he should be favored to win comeback player of the year and is even a dark horse for MVP. Whenever he plays against the Jaguars though, a different version of him comes out. Since 2007, Roethlisberger has complied 164 completions for 1,905 yards along with 11 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
While the yardage has been there, the mistakes have been far more apparent. As well, his quarterback rating on average against the Jaguars has only been 82, a mediocre number especially when you consider how bad some of these Jaguars teams have been. For some reason, Roethlisberger has an inherent struggle against this team.
If the Steelers want to remain undefeated, Roethlisberger will have to exercise his demons against this team. He showed last week that he can make up for a lackluster running game through sharp short passing. If he is off and the Steelers can’t run, this could be yet another disaster for this offense. On the flip side, if Roethlisberger can play similarly to last week, the Steelers should be set to improve to 10-0.
