The Pittsburgh Steelers (9-0) next challenge is with the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-8). Pittsburgh should remain unbeaten by starting with the keys listed here.

“Only thing perfect about us is our record.” Words echoed by Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, publicly acknowledging the few issues that still plague this team is needed on runs such as these.

Addressed in practice & then adjusted in-game, the awareness of imperfection leads to a team’s discipline that typically reflects in the results. Mixing all of these elements plus supreme talent helps when matchups like the Baltimore Ravens or Tennessee Titans take place & are even more critical against low-record teams such as the Cincinnati Bengals or the upcoming Jacksonville Jaguars.

Nothing is taken for granted and continuous improvement could expose the best of anyone. As the Jags slug through a 1-8 season, a third consecutive “trap game” steps up for the Steelers. Aside from the primary key of keys Tomlin spoken about, Jacksonville also has a couple of bright areas that could pose a challenge to the perfection of Pittsburgh.

Steelers stopping the entire Jaguars offense

Either vague or confusing, the subtitle doesn’t sound as if any sense is being made. Before even going to the numbers, it’s the Jacksonville Jaguars. A literal mustache on a player has received more media coverage than any other being or thing on that team in recent times.

Aside from the jokes, the Jags don’t lack talent on offense in actuality, but the scope is meant to shine on RB James Robinson. Despite walking into a group that features WRs such as DJ Chark & Dede Westbrook and fresh off the release of former Jacksonville RB Leonard Fournette, the running back room was wide open.

And that’s what it seems like the NFL has been for Robinson too. Since the UDFA ran off with the position’s baton, he has elevated himself into one of the better stories in the league this year. Nearly three consecutive 100-yard rushing games in the past three weeks, his 689 total rush yards rank fifth in the league at 4.4 YPC (21st).

Without a fumble on 155 attempts, he’s secure in carrying the ball & boost the lack of passing that resides with the Jags offense. As they play with what’s available, rookie QB Jake Luton’s sample size of two games had a moment of glory but was quickly reminded of the league he now plays in.

0-2 in his last two starts, averaging 236.5 passing yards per game on a 60 completion percentage; the only consistency is in the backfield. Stopping Robinson will be the first & foremost task, a worthy battle for the Steelers front seven.
