Tomlin’s Takeaway: Ineffective Run Game
I didn’t want to say it. Repeating the same key from last week seems lazy, but it’s nearly impossible to ignore, especially when the head man himself leads off with it.
Before the mentioning of third-down conversions against the Steelers defense, Robinson, Jacksonville’s LB corps, & how in even amid perfection, specific components will face its challenges that will need to be re-addressed throughout the year, Tomlin started with the recent struggles of the running game.
"“In review of the game, I think the biggest, significant component or analysis or critique of the game, is our ineffective run game.”"
Does anything else have to be said?
The #Steelers are the 1st team since 1940 to win 3 straight games while rushing for 50 yards or less in each of them

A possible accomplishment and indictment, Pittsburgh gets another chance to find redemption, but the upcoming matchup has been much better in defending the run than what they faced the previous two weeks. Ranked 16th as a rushing defense, the Jags have been decent to a degree in this element.
Whether a new face needs to be the primary runner for the Steelers or the lack of talent up front exposes itself on the ground or inclusive of it all, an answer needs to be found as they shift into the second half of the schedule.
