The weeks continue, as do our writers’ picks at the Still Curtain for the Pittsburgh Steelers (9-0) against the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-8).

Their matchups have been far and few, but whenever the Pittsburgh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars line up against each other, they seem always to create moments we remember. Reviewing the two meetings from the 2018 calendar year alone, there’s the high scoring affair in the AFC divisional playoff round & the game-winning score by QB Ben Roethlisberger.

While predicting who will win the upcoming battle on Sunday, there needs to be an argument made on the better game two years ago. For starters, the Steelers didn’t advance in the playoffs that year after falling short to the Jags 42-45, but still an excellent watch for every fan, nonetheless the in-game controversies. Then able to quickly get revenge next season, the ending provided a comeback & play that’ll stick forever for Pittsburgh’s fans.

The playoffs, the stakes, the talent on the field made for a fantastic atmosphere, but giving Roethlisberger a run-pass option & him diving in for a touchdown to win a game is something we rarely ever get to see and would love to again. However, a debate for another time, our team of writers provide their takes on what may unfold today.

Writers’ Recap

Another writer has fallen. After going eight weeks with the correct choice, a justified thought in the Steelers’ possibility coming up short in what appeared to be a trap game tripped up another one in this race. Now with only two remaining undefeated predictors, the pressure is intense for each of them.

However, a new face joins the ranks & with it being midway through the season, we can count the games as double to level out the playing field. It’s Pittsburgh versus Jacksonville & time to see what’s being said at the Still Curtain.

Week eleven predictions vs. Jaguars

“The Steelers continue their rough stretch in Jacksonville, looking bad against a pitiful Jaguars team. Luckily, Jake Luton looks just as bad.” – Andrew Falce (PIT 21-13)

“As has been the case all season, the Steelers make what should be an easy win a difficult one. The offense sputters early but gets on track in the second half. The Steelers ‘D’ continues to play the ‘bend, don’t break’ style. In the end, Pittsburgh comes out on top.” – Eric Hassel (PIT 27-24)

”The Black & Gold don’t see any game as an easy win. Mike Tomlin’s team will roll over the Jags”. – Ed Hunt (PIT 35-17)

”The Steelers look to keep their win streak alive and the only thing standing in the way of doing that this week is the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags nearly upset the Packers last week, but Pittsburgh is a more well-rounded team than Green Bay. Steelers have historically struggled against Jacksonville, but I think they win this one easy.” – Tommy Jaggi (28-17)

”The Jags, despite their 1-8 record, are no pushovers. The Steelers need to get their run game going this week. The Jags have one of the worst-ranked defenses so it starts this week.” – Brandon Kring (PIT 24-21)

”The Steelers heavily outman the Jags in every position on the field. Pittsburgh won’t allow much Jacksonville scoring, and they’ll put up enough points to put the game away as soon as possible.” – Austin Lloyd (PIT 30-13)

”I usually fill in my answer after pasting my co-writers explanations in here first, so seeing that the next two, Ryan & Casey, both have 34-17, let’s continue that trend. The Jaguars have nothing to show defensively outside of their youth & relying on rookie QB Jake Luton to fire Jacksonville’s passing game up is almost a lost cause. RB James Robinson poses the threat, but isn’t nearly enough to have a game-changing effect.” – Jordan Newman (PIT 34-17)

”This is another potential trap game but the Steelers have been getting better every week. They find new ways to win and they seem to be building momentum from their game against the Bengals.” – Ryan Pawloski (PIT 34-17)

”The Jaguars can run the ball with rookie James Robinson. However rookie QB Jake Luton is going to cost the jags the game.” – Casey Sadekoski (PIT 34-17)
