4 takeaways from Steelers 27-3 win against the Jaguars

Terrell Edmunds is on the rise
I know I touched on Terrell Edmunds’ terrific game already, but his improvement in play over the past few weeks is worth mentioning again. After another slow start to the season, Edmunds has played his best football in recent weeks. Last year, the former first-round pick allowed 4 touchdown receptions and a 131.6 passer rating on the season, according to Pro Football Reference. This year has been an entirely different story.
Through his first 10 games of the 2020 season, Edmunds has allowed just 58.1 percent of targets to completed in his direction this year for just 7.6 yards per target and 0 touchdowns allowed. As a result, he has surrendered just an 82.2 passer rating allowed prior to Week 10 (and it’s sure to be much better than that after a two-interception game against the Jaguars).
Edmunds has had an overall disappointing start to his NFL career, but maybe he is going to have a very ‘Bud Dupree-like’ career path. If he can start to get things going, he could really help improve what was once one of the weakest spots on defense.
At the end of the day, there were really only positives to note in the Steelers win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Though I would like to see Ben Roethlisberger start the game off with a little less rust, it’s hard to find anything to complain about when you win by 24. Let’s hope Pittsburgh can keep this momentum going heading into their Thanksgiving night matchup against the Ravens.
