Winner: Pass Defense

Speaking of the passing defense, this unit was nothing short of spectacular this week No, Jake Luton isn’t an elite quarterback, but the defense still only allowed him to pass for 151 yards as well as forcing four interceptions. Considering Garrett Gilbert looked like a competent player against them a few weeks ago, seeing the team shut down Luton as they did was needed.

A special shoutout to Minkah Fitzpatrick and Terrell Edmunds (more on him later) for recording two interceptions each. Both were critical in stopping Jaguar drives and limiting their offense overall. While a lot of the interceptions were low effort plays (meaning the bad pass by Luton was more at fault than the coverage itself), it was nice to see that much splash from the unit.

On top of this, the corners did a good job of shutting down the Jaguars receivers. The unit as a whole was a force. Add in the usual impressive pass rush, and suddenly you had arguably the strongest unit on the day. After a few weeks of bad coverage plays, seeing this group come together and shut down the Jaguars was refreshing. Hopefully, this unit keeps it up next week against the Ravens.
