It wasn’t the greatest stat day for Ben but he still got the job done. It took a while for him to get started but he finished the day on a high note.

As we know, Big Ben doesn’t have to throw for 300+ yards and 3 touchdowns for the Steelers to win anymore. Of course it would help a lot, but with the best defense in the league we can win games even with Ben having a off day. Ben Roethlisberger’s day started off extremely slow. He couldn’t find the back of the end zone until the second quarter. Ben was completing passes, but not really moving the ball downfield. He also got a lot of help from the run game which helped the defense stay honest. James Conner rushed the ball 13 times for 89 yards and paired that with 3 catches for 10 yards.

Towards the end of the half Ben started to pick up the pace and found Diontae Johnson on multiple occasions for multiple 20+ plays. As the season goes on I’m becoming more and more convinced that Johnson is Ben’s favorite target. As long a Johnson can stay healthy, Ben will find him multiple times for big yardage. Johnson finished the game with 12 receptions for 111 yards.

All in all, it was a solid game from Ben, besides the interception, Ben did his job and came out of Jacksonville with a win. He finished the game completing 32 passes on 46 attempts, 267 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception.

This wasn’t Ben’s best game by any means. Steeler fans were nervous early on with the offense struggling against a below-average Jags defense. In the future, the offense needs to put up points early to take a little pressure off the defense.

Now, let take a look at Ben’s best throw of the day:
