The Steelers have several players who are in contention for personal awards this year. Here are four players who could achieve this in 2020.

The Steelers are having a phenomenal 2020 season, and fans are privileged with watching history in the making. After narrowly defeating the Dallas Cowboys in Week 9, Pittsburgh started a season 8-0 for the first time in the history of the franchise that dates all the way back to 1933. But they didn’t stop there.

Mike Tomlin’s team laid a beating on the Cincinnati Bengals last week, and the Steelers could extend their win streak even further if they can take care of business against a 1-8 Jacksonville Jaguars team this week.

In my opinion, football is the best team sport in the world, and it takes 52 players and a team of coaches to come together and play at a high level. Though the ultimate goal is to win a Super Bowl this year, there are a handful of players who will be in contention for personal accomplishments by the end of the 2020 season. Here are four Steelers most likely to win awards in 2020:

Ben Roethlisberger: Comeback Player of the Year

This really doesn’t require a thorough explanation. Ben Roethlisberger missed 14 games last season after his throwing arm required surgery to repair three tendons on his right elbow. Prior to landing on IR, Big Ben had a very rough start in his two games against the Patriots and Seahawks – completing just 35 of 62 targets (56.5 percent) for a dismal 5.7 yards per attempt to go with 0 touchdowns and 1 interception.

So far, 2020 has been an entirely different story. Roethlisberger currently boasts the best touchdown-to-interception ratio of his 17-year NFL career, and it doesn’t hurt that his team is undefeated. According to Odds Shark, Ben is currently tied with Cam Newton for the best odds of winning this award, and if things continue at this rate, I see no reason why Roethlisberger doesn’t come away with this award in 2020.
