The Washington Football Team has a few select players for the Steelers to keep an eye on this Monday.

This Washington squad is not the same one that we saw earlier in the 2020 NFL season. The past couple of weeks following the return of current starting quarterback Alex Smith, the Washington Football Team has played like a…pretty darn good football team. They have had rather convincing wins over the Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys. There are some players on this team that the Steelers need to be aware of.

This is not just due to Alex Smith, however, as multiple talents have made their presences known on both sides of the ball in recent memory. The sizable gap between Washington’s and Pittsburgh’s lengths of breaks will not make the battle much easier to come out on top of either.

Now with all of that out of the way, let’s take a look at some of those Football Team guys who will be turning heads against the Steelers on December 7th.

Alex Smith

As I said, he isn’t the sole reason for Washington’s late success. However, that certainly does not mean that he isn’t a reason at all.

Since Alex’s return to the Washington backfield, the Football Team has only lost two games, each by a single field goal. And while he hasn’t exactly been playing to some GOAT-like standard (especially in the touchdown department), he definitely is racking up the yards. Alex helps the offense get down the field, and with the appropriate weapons surrounding him on the offense, that’s really all he needs to do to keep his team in games.

Performing to such a standard has Smith getting a lot of praise in regards to being named the Comeback Player of the Year. Virtually his only competition? Ben Roethlisberger. So the winner of this game just might be promised the title for this season, making the matchup with Alex even more noteworthy.
