The Pittsburgh Steelers (11-0) return home to defend Heinz Field against the Washington Football Team (4-7) in week 13.

What will be their third game in sixteen collective days, the Pittsburgh Steelers jet back home in an attempt to defend it from the Washington Football Team. Not only will they look to advance their never-mentioned undefeated record, but also extend the current six-game winning streak they hold against the WFT dating back to 1997.

And if that wasn’t enough, after just completing the season’s sweep of the Baltimore Ravens, the Steelers also have the chance in sweeping the entire NFC East division if they were to come out victorious on Monday. The accomplishment may be as grandeur as the performance against the Ravens; however, they all count the same.

The need for recognition of the media to establish them as one of the elite teams is entirely meaningless. More importantly, the Steelers are granted a quick opportunity to recoup the dominance they withheld for the majority of the year. The task will be challenging as the number of games in such a short span takes a severe toll, and although the record doesn’t say much, WFT is a team that will test them in select areas.

Steelers quickly re-establishing themselves

It’s a new week. The result & what occurred in the previous game are behind the Steelers. Playing a division rival is tougher than a typical opponent. This isn’t to justify what happened against the Ravens, but the mindset we need moving forward.

Led by the example of head coach Mike Tomlin, Pittsburgh is a team that is not overly emotional. Issues persist with every team, and as the Steelers have their own, it’s nothing severe enough that can’t be addressed and fixed.

From the lack of a running game to the slow starts, it’s more failure in preparation & execution that have caused the less than desirable results. The Steelers are talented enough on offense to hang with anyone in the NFL, coupled with an elite defense, there still shouldn’t be a drawback when discussing the legitimacy of this team.

To re-establish themselves the Steelers need to remove some pressure off QB Ben Roethlisberger, considering he’s thrown 40+ times in five of the last six games, roll with OLB Alex Highsmith as the replacement for Bud Dupree, and stay sound on defense as they have done.
