It’s going to take a joint effort for the Steelers to be a Super Bowl team in 2020. Here are five players who will be critical down the stretch.

More than halfway through the 2020 season, the Steelers remain the only unbeaten team in the league. Despite some of the factors that have worked against them this year, including drawing the short straw on postponed games against both the Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh has found a way to keep their composure and continue their run of dominance.

There’s no ‘I’ in ‘team’ has never been more true than it is right now for the Pittsburgh Steelers. While Ben Roethlisberger is the glue that holds this squad together, he alone would not be able to get the job done without a thoroughly talented squad.

Players like T.J. Watt, Minkah Fitzpatrick, and Stephon Tuitt have been critical to Pittsburgh’s success for the better part of the season, and there are many other players who hold sizable roles on a weekly basis. However, in order for the Steelers to be perfect down the stretch, they are going to need even more elevated play from these five players:

WR Chase Claypool

What more could you ask of a player who was drafted in the second-round just over seven months ago. Chase Claypool has had as impactful of a start as any Steelers rookie since Martavis Bryant exploded onto the scene in 2014 – probably even more so.

The rookie wide receiver has been a huge target and terrific downfield threat for Big Ben early in his career. However, in recent weeks, Ben has had trouble getting on the same page with Claypool, and the 6’4” receiver hasn’t had at least 75 receiving yards in a game since Week 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Claypool can be a matchup nightmare for this team, but he needs to be more consistent down the stretch.
