Winners: Cameron Heyward

While it didn’t show up on the stat sheet, Cameron Heyward was nearly unblockable for much of this game. This was present early in the game, as he was consistently blowing up interior lineman and bringing pressure onto Josh Allen. As a result, this defense shut down the Bills, and they were forced to adjust in order to limit Heyward’s effectiveness.

While his second half was less effective, that was more due to him consistently being double-teamed and not because of his play. Likewise, that allowed for some of the other defenders to see single blocks, which still aided the Steelers defense. Again, those numbers aren’t shown in the stat sheet, unfortunately, but on tape, Heyward was easily the best of the Steelers front seven.

While the credit ends up being Mike Hilton, it is easy to see that without Heyward blowing up his block to force the pressure, that interception likely wouldn’t have been there. While his overall stats aren’t his most dominant, it isn’t stopping him from having a stellar season. He has earned every penny from the massive extension he got before the season started.
