While the Steelers rookie class has been excellent, they may be suffering some regrets due to missing out on other top talents

The Steelers rookie class has been nothing short of fantastic so far. They have seen contributions all over, from top pick Chase Claypool to an undrafted gem in James Pierre. As of now, this class could be argued as the best in the NFL considering they have a blossoming edge rusher in Alex Highsmith, a top target in Claypool, and a future starting guard in Kevin Dotson. The rest of the class has seen action as well, once again pointing to the potential star-studded class that the Steelers may have.

That said, well over halfway into the season, the Steelers may be having some regrets. There are a handful of big-time talents that fell through the cracks and have shined on other rosters. If the Steelers had a due-over, more than likely they would change their plans. That doesn’t mean their draft has been bad (far from it), but it does mean that the team overlooked some key talent. With that said, here are the five rookies that the Steelers regret not adding to their roster.

An important note

As you will see on this list, the majority of players on this list are late-round/undrafted players. While there was a handful of talent that the Steelers passed on earlier in the draft, it would have meant that the team picks a different player over a Claypool or a Highsmith. That isn’t something I’m willing to do, but some of the later rounds picks are a different story. As well, adding the players that went undrafted would have made sense, since they were essentially free players.
