The Steelers are in desperate need of some changes, but here are four things Pittsburgh will not do, despite our wishes.

There is a stretch of games for the Steelers we would like to forget about this year. Even in some close wins against what should be inferior opponents, it’s hard to be left satisfied with some of Pittsburgh’s performances in the 2020 season.

Still, there aren’t many who would have predicted this team would have started 11-0 – even with one of the easier schedules in the league. Now the Steelers find themselves in a bit of a late-season slump. While a few losses are typically no reason to hit the panic button, we have seen the offense trending in the wrong direction as the season goes on, and something will need to be done about this soon.

Kevin Colbert and Mike Tomlin get paid great money to make hard decisions for this franchise, and they will soon have they already have their hands full trying to find some answers. Unfortunately, they probably won’t go about things the way we would like him to. Here are four decisions the Pittsburgh Steelers will not make, despite our wishes:

Fire Fichtner

Is Randy Fichtner the reason for all of the Steelers offensive woes in 2020? No. Has he done enough to stick around for another season in Pittsburgh? Also no. But just because we believe Fichtner should be done with this team doesn’t mean the organization does.

Ben Roethlisberger is going to be a 39-year-old quarterback before the start of the 2021 season. Now that we can finally see the end of Ben’s career in sight, there’s no way the future Hall of Fame quarterback is going to want to change offensive coordinators this late in his NFL career (and trust me, he has plenty of pull here). Because of this, Fichtner will likely be around as long as Ben is around.
