5 greatest Pittsburgh Steelers cornerbacks of all-time
Ike Taylor
This is where the list gets interesting as Ike Taylor was one of the best corners for the Steelers in recent history. Yes, he couldn’t catch for the life of him but he was a shutdown player. He went up against some of the best receivers to ever play the game and could take them out.
Taylor was a major factor in the amazing defenses during the Super Bowl 40 and 43 eras. It saw the famous defense come back into the Steelers light. He showed what it meant to be a Steeler through and through. Taylor was apart of that legacy and was a big reason those defenses were so amazing.
He played alongside some great players so that bumped him down on this list some but his lack of interceptions was another major reason. The main cause for him being at four is because the players in front of him were just so great. It is no knock against Ike because these players were just so good.
Taylor was able to compile stats of 140 games started, 14 interceptions, one touchdown, 134 pass deflections, two forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, three sacks, 636 total tackles, and two Super Bowl Championships.
