The Steelers roster is exploding with young talent. Here are five Pittsburgh players who could steal the spotlight in 2021.

Typically when you have a team that has performed as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers have in 2020, there are a lot of contributing factors. Mike Tomlin is the frontrunner for the Coach of the Year for helping this team to the best start in the history of the franchise, while veteran leaders like Ben Roethlisberger and Cameron Heyward have helped elevate the play of their team this year.

In addition, T.J. Watt has been an absolute stud for the Steelers and Pittsburgh has gotten incredible performances out of many other talented players. But it’s not only veterans who are contributing to the cause in 2020. There are many young Steelers players who are on the verge of breaking out. Here are five Pittsburgh players who could really shine for this team in 2021:

WR Chase Claypool

Chase Claypool is hardly a secret at this point in time. After exploding onto the scene with a dominant 4-touchdown performance against the Philadelphia Eagles back in Week 5, Claypool has been one of the most talked-about rookies of the 2020 draft class – even throwing his name into the mix of potential Rookie of the Year candidates. However, the young receiver clearly still has some things to work on.

Claypool has struggled with inconsistencies throughout his rookie season, despite flashes of dominance at times. He will drop the occasional deep ball or struggle to be on the same page as quarterback Ben Roethlisberger at times. With another offseason of preparation and the imminent departure of JuJu Smith-Schuster in 2021, there is plenty of reason to believe that Chase Claypool could really shine next season – even more than what we’ve seen so far.
