OG Kevin Dotson

Nobody was expecting the Steelers 2020 fourth-round pick to look as impressive as what he did when called upon this year. With David DeCastro and former interior backup Stefen Wisniewski both injured, Kevin Dotson temporarily found himself in a starting role, and he did not disappoint.

Dotson remarkably graded out as one of the best pass-blocking interior offensive linemen in the NFL during his brief stint as a starter for the team, according to Pro Football Focus. In addition, the run game seemed to be much more effective when he was carving out lanes (though there could have been some other factors going into play here).

While Dotson may have gone back to the bench after DeCastro returned to health, he showed plenty of promise as a rookie. With Matt Feiler potentially hitting the market in 2021, Dotson could step into a starting role at left guard and continue the mean streak that we saw from him in 2020. Look for him to shine next year if given the chance to start full-time.

The Steelers are blessed to have a number of promising, young football players on their roster. With a little more experience and preparation, these five players could steal the spotlight in Pittsburgh as early as next year.
