The Steelers came up a little short against the Browns in the regular-season finale. Here’s what we learned.

Well, the regular season is over and the Steelers finished with a mark of 12 wins and 4 losses.  That’s a great record; however, we started the season having won 11 straight games. What that means is this: we lost four of the last five games.

The game against the Browns was, frankly, a game that we were not supposed to win as evidenced by the fact that we rested several key starters and probably would not have affected our playoff seeding, but for me, it was a game that we could have (and should have) won.

I’m sure there are some fans who viewed the game as an opportunity to rest some starters and to give the backups some playing time.  While I agree with that assessment, I viewed this game as a winnable game, even with playing the backups, which would have given the Steelers momentum heading into what is now a rematch with the Browns.

Obviously, the game against the Browns would have had a different ‘feel’ had all of our starters played and had there been more ‘on the line’, but since there really was not a whole lot ‘on the line’ for us, it was simply another loss.

As with any game, we can glean certain things from a win or from a loss.  Since this was not only a loss but was the last game of the regular season, I believe there is much to be gleaned.  With that in mind, let’s take a look at what we learned.
