Cameron Sutton vs. Jarvis Landry and Rashad Higgins

Cameron Sutton has turned out to be quite the defensive back for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and I know he will be up to the challenge this week. With Joe Haden almost certainly unable to come back before Sunday night’s contest, Sutton is slated to make the start at left cornerback this week.

Pittsburgh has done a phenomenal job keeping Baker Mayfield and the passing game in check over their two matchups this season, and Sutton was fortunate to have a trial run in Week 17 against this team. This matchup against Cleveland’s receivers could have been much worse if Odell Beckham hadn’t torn his ACL earlier in the season. However, this is one that could potentially favor the Steelers cornerback.

Jarvis Landry and Rashad Higgins split time on both sides of the field and they win in different ways. Fortunately, neither should present anything that a savvy, young player like Sutton can’t handle. Cameron Sutton narrowly graded out as Pittsburgh’s best cornerback this year, and it may not be a bad thing having him in the starting lineup this week. If he can have a big game against Cleveland in the playoffs, he could end up fetching a fatter contract in the 2021 offseason.
