Chubb goes off
It was puzzling, to say the least when the Browns opted to not run Nick Chubb consistently last week despite the success he found on the ground. While he had the one big rush to score the first touchdown of the game, he was consistently bursting through holes and fighting for extra yardage. While they were moving the ball elsewhere, it didn’t make much sense to limit him as they did when they were holding onto a shrinking lead.
This week is different though. Due to the Browns quarterback play folding under pressure (more on that soon), Cleveland has to rely on a big day from Chubb. Even though the Browns lose this one, it has nothing to do with Chubb. He records 150 rushing yards on the day as well as taking a screen in for the first score of the game. In total, he has 186 total yards and two scores.
The issue becomes the rest of the offense. The passing game lacks efficiency while Kareem Hunt, who scores the other touchdown, only musters nine yards rushing on eight attempts. Chubb gives the Browns an early lead and he keeps the team in the game throughout. It may still end in a losing effort, but Chubb is the best player on the field today.
