Extra: Defensive pressure is gone

Vince Williams, Robert Spillane, Avery Williamson, Marcus Allen, and TJ Watt (especially him) have done a wonderful job in the absences of Bush and Depree. But no knock on anyone, when you’re missing stars on your defense, performance will go south in a hurry. It is up to the backups to step up and pull through to sustain any push there is. There haven’t been too many sacks that the Steelers added up in the stat book in the past month and it still showed last week as Baker Mayfield had open space to run out of the pocket and gained very positive yards. Luckily our pass Defense has improved a bit. We will have most of the starting Defense without Bush and Depree that was back in the first game against Cleveland at home.

Mentally, there is the thought that when the regular season is over, a new season begins with the go all-in approach. Tonight’s game is the beginning of it and if the Steelers focus on their misfortunes and struggles, they can make a memorable run compared to the 2005 and 2008 seasons that made it into the Super Bowl game.
