Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Chris Olave (2)College Football Playoff Ohio State Faces Clemson In Sugar Bowl /

Chris Olave

While putting a receiver on this list, especially one that will likely be drafted in the second round, may seem unlikely due to the Steelers’ depth, don’t be surprised to see a receiver go early for this team. JuJu Smith-Schuster is likely going to leave via free agency, and even if he doesn’t, the team will keep adding to this group to keep it strong. Chris Olave has had a strong season for Ohio State despite the limited playing time due to COVID this year.

In total, he has caught 42 passes for 660 yards and seven scores. In his previous game against Clemson, Olave had a great game, winning deep repeatedly despite playing one of the better secondaries in the league. Given his size, he could even shift to the inside if he adds some weight. Honestly, the biggest issue with him may end up being his weight, as 185 seems a little light for his size.

That said, if he lasts into the third round, the Steelers could get yet another talented receiver to add to their depth chart. As well, if he adds some weight, he could shift to the inside to be a direct replacement for Smith-Schuster. The value would have to be right, but Olave could make some sense for the team. It would have to be closer to the third round, but he would make sense at that juncture for the team.
