Tua Tagovailoa

Don’t think this is a realistic possibility? Think again. Miami holds the number three overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, and it has been rumored that they are eying a quarterback. In addition, there are even talks that Pro Bowler Deshaun Watson wants out of Houston and that he would love to go to Miami. Either way, it seems like the Dolphins could be moving on from Tua Tagovailoa.

This isn’t totally uncommon. We saw the Arizona Cardinals do the exact same thing in 2019. After taking quarterback Josh Rosen with the 10th overall pick in 2018, they turned around and traded him to the Dolphins after drafting Kyler Murray the next offseason. Now, it could be Miami that does the dealing.

For the cost of the 24th overall pick, Tua might be worth taking a chance on for the Steelers. Though his lack of big plays was a bit concerning in 2020, it’s important to remember that he was still a rookie and he was a very highly regarded draft prospect. With three years plus a fifth-year option remaining on his rookie deal, he could offer Pittsburgh a great financial situation for the immediate future.
