Leonard Fournette, RB

The rumors began swirling around the league once Fournette got cut by the Jaguars that the Steelers were interested. He landed with Tampa Bay but one could wonder if Pittsburgh could be interested now. The former LSU Tiger has not been the same dynamic player for the last couple of seasons due to injuries and being on terrible Jaguars teams. He now serves as a backup in his current situation so a one-year prove-it deal would make a lot of sense for the runner. It would be a nice situation for both the team and the player signing on. The running game needs a spark and James Conner will be leaving via free agency. Benny Snell and Anthony McFarland will be returning and could potentially be sharing the duties as a tandem but Fournette would bring some pedigree.

The former first-round pick would be an upgrade over the current stable of backs on the roster and would take away the immediate need in the draft. If this need is taken away then other positions could be focused on when April comes around. It would make a ton of sense for both the team and the player when free agency starts but this player could have a surprising amount of suitors that most will not be suspecting.
