Najee Harris, RB, Alabama

Najee Harris’s connection to the Steelers has been there for a while and it makes a ton of sense. It is kind of surprising that this running back decided to participate in the Senior Bowl as he seems almost a lock for the first round. His position might be what pushed him to join the event in Mobile. Many teams do not value the position much anymore and it makes sense. Running backs only last so long in the league and they can be replaced relatively easily.

Harris is a monster with amazing power that brings along an all-around game with him. The only concern with the player is the amazing program he played for. They had one of the best offensive lines in college and he would be going to the black and gold with one of the worst in the NFL. Another issue is his age as he will be a 23-year-old rookie and that could cause issues for wear and tear.

Harris is a great prospect and will cement his first-round status this week in practices and during the game. He is going down there to show NFL teams that running backs deserve some respect and he is a big weapon in any offense. He has had an amazing college career and seems to have a lot more tread on the tire. But with the worst running attack in the NFL last season, the Steelers seem to have more issues other than just running back. Another interesting thing to watch will be how Harris handles himself in any pass-protecting drills he is involved in. It is an art form for having that ability at his position and one that Pittsburgh demands of their players.
