James Hudson III, OL, Cincinnati

James Hudson had a very impressive week at the Senior Bowl, as his feet were arguably the best of any offensive lineman on hand. Hudson is very much in the mold of the ‘Kelvin Beachum’-type tackles. At 6’4” and 302 pounds, the Cincinnati product lacks elite size and length but makes up for it with quick feet and sound technique.

Hudson would benefit from a year of NFL conditioning and weight training before being tossed into a role as a starting tackle, as his lack of power can often get him in trouble. However, against the best seniors in the nation last week, he really showed what he was made of, as he was only beaten on a few reps all week long.

The Steelers clearly have some major needs at offensive tackle, and Chukwuma Okorafor is the only tackle who is guaranteed to return from the 2020 season. With nine picks this year, drafting two offensive tackles isn’t out of the question, and Hudson could be a solid prospect in the third or fourth round.
