6 quarterbacks the Steelers could trade for if Ben Roethlisberger is done

Kirk Cousins
The Minnesota Vikings are said to have an interest in getting rid of Kirk Cousins and starting over, and there have been rumors that the 49ers are a team that is interested in acquiring his services. Though San Fransisco just gave Jimmy Garoppolo a big deal a few years back, he could potentially be on the move as well as they set their eyes on someone else.
Cousins seems unlikely to wind up in Pittsburgh if Ben retires due to his sizable cap hit, but if the Vikings are willing to take on some of this, it could be a real possibility. Cousins doesn’t have the most tools to work with, but he would fit well in Matt Canada’s new offense. Though he carries the dreaded ‘game manager’ label that holds such a negative connotation, he has actually been one of the most efficient passers in the league in each of the past two seasons – boasting a passer rating of over 105.0 for two years in a row.
With a defense that already finished near the top of the league, Cousins could manage the offense much more efficiently than Ben Roethlisberger and give the Steelers a chance to compete for the Super Bowl. The challenge would be managing his salary numbers, and Pittsburgh would likely have to give him an extension upon the trade in order to make things work.
