3 reasons Steelers fans shouldn’t be too upset with T.J. Watt’s DPOY snub

Watt will come back with a vengeance
The Watt family is upset about T.J. getting snubbed from Defensive Player of the Year honors this season, and they have made that well known. J.J. Watt took to social media immediately after the honors were revealed and expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision.
It doesn’t take long to get to know the demeanor of the Watt’s. They are fiery competitors and hard-nosed football players who will stop at nothing to be the best. J.J. had a chance to be one of the most dominant defensive players in NFL history if a back injury didn’t halt his dominant pace. Still, J.J. Watt is a first-ballot Hall of Famer and T.J. won’t be far behind.
Though falling short of the ultimate individual achievement stings, I know that T.J. Watt is going to be all the more motivated to earn this honor in the 2021 season. Watt very well could have won this award in 2019 when it was given to Stephon Gilmore, and after falling short in 2020, he’s going to do everything in his power to make sure that doesn’t happen again.
