3. Super Bowl XLIII
If I was talking about the best Super Bowl of my childhood, I would rank this above all else, even including the comeback from Tom Brady and the short overtime possession in Super Bowl LI. In terms of Steelers history by impact, it needed to rank 3rd. However, there was a lot of spectacular plays and jaw-dropping moments that kept me on the edge of my seat from James Harrison’s 100-yard interception return for a touchdown at the end of the 1st half, to Ryan Clark’s failed coverage against Larry Fitzgerald giving the Arizona Cardinals the short lead, to Ben Roethlisberger’s drive, and to Santonio Holmes’ corner catch in the endzone to give the Steelers the final lead and the ballgame.
Arizona, a 9-7 team and who did win the NFC West division, never was given the mention to be in the Super Bowl but showed to the world they belonged there and proved it to Pittsburgh. But veteran experience and a narrow-focused team were the points toward Pittsburgh to claim this Super Bowl and became the 1st team to win 6 Super Bowls.
