Carr knows how to beat the Chiefs

The Raiders haven’t been nearly as good as Kansas City lately. But somehow, Derek Carr manages to be the kryptonite of the Chiefs. In his first contest against them in 2020, Carr put up 40 points on the road in the upset win. The second time around, Las Vegas fell just short, but Carr still managed to compile huge numbers in the 31-35 loss – a game that the Raiders very well could have won.

In his last two games going toe-to-toe with Patrick Mahomes, Carr has actually outperformed the former league MVP and Super Bowl champion. Considering that the Raiders defense finished 30th in points allowed and 25th in yards allowed, this is quite the accomplishment.

On a better team in Pittsburgh with a better defense, Carr could stand an even better chance against Mahomes and company. We know that Pittsburgh’s path to the Super Bowl will have to go through Kansas City many more times in the coming years, and what better way to get over the hump than to have one of the quarterbacks who seems to give the Chiefs the most trouble.
