Green Bay Packers

This seems like one of the most likely options for Watt as he enters free agency. He is from Wisconsin and still lives up there during the offseason. He attended the Packers training camp while a joint-team practice happened with the Houston Texans.

Staying home year-round with his family around would be a huge lure to him. The memories of someone’s childhood keeps that place in the back of your mind. Watt surely has not forgotten his roots and this might be the place for him. If Preston Smith is cut then this place could be a fit in every way. He would be with family, he fits into the team, and the money is there.

The Packers also play the Steelers this upcoming season so that is another interesting point to make. Chicago is nearby, so his wife and he could see each other more frequently, pandemic permitting. Green Bay has about 28 million in cap space so it could be tight if they pay Watt around what he could want on the open market. The team has other holes to fill but Aaron Rodgers’ window for winning has a couple of seasons left so adding Watt to that struggling defense would be huge.

It will be interesting to see how Watt goes through the free agency process. He will have a lot of suitors but these seem to be the likeliest spots for him to go.
