Bud Dupree is in murky waters as the talented pass-rusher is coming off an ACL injury. That might affect the teams interested in the Steelers edge defender.

We are almost two weeks away until teams can begin negotiating with free agents on the open market. It is always an exciting time to see where players end up. This also marks a sad time as teams lose some important players to the franchise – the Steelers are no exception.

Money talks and these players deserve to get paid. They have worked extremely hard to this point in their careers. The money they garner on the open market is well deserved and something each player wants. Their new relationship with a new team always has mixed results, and some players can immediately adapt to their new surroundings and show why they signed those big deals. Others have hiccups or other issues and become a failed signing.

Bud Dupree is one of the best edge rushers heading into the open market. He is currently rehabbing from an ACL tear that happened in the ladder part of this past season. Dupree once was starting to teeter on the side of a draft bust until he revitalized his career. He and T.J. Watt become the best pass-rushing tandem in the NFL. Watt shadowed Dupree’s stardom at times but it has not taken away his status across the league. Despite coming off of an injury, he will still be paid the big bucks this offseason by another team.
