Zach Banner

Any fan has to feel for Zach Banner. The former fourth-round pick and an almost out-of-the-league player was on the cusp of starting this season until he tore his ACL about halfway through week one. His injury may have been a blessing for the Steelers though, as it should allow him to be brought back on another cheap deal. Considering he was set to start this past year, it would be shocking if the team doesn’t look to him serving in a similar role with the team next year.

While there is only a little tape of him as a starter for the Steelers to go off of, the team is clearly high enough to want to bring him back. A deal wouldn’t be for much given his injury, and it could potentially be less than the deal he got last offseason (1.75 million). This should make him an extremely affordable option for a team set to lose quite a few starters along their already struggling line.

Banner should be brought back on the cheap and be penciled in as the week one starter. The role likely won’t be given to him as the Steelers will bring in competition elsewhere but having him around will be a benefit. He has revitalized his career here, and now he should be given the proper chance to show that he has what it takes to be a starter in this league.
