The entire offense
I am completely and utterly ashamed to admit that I was unable to narrow down Cleveland’s deadliest weapon to just one player. Taking a look at their roster, the offensive side of the ball is bursting at the seams with notable talent. Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, Jarvis Landry, Odell Beckham, David Njoku, Austin Hooper, and so on.
Those guys are just the scoring pieces, the exciting playmakers. That list doesn’t even include the offensive line, which just might be the closest a group of dudes will ever get to disguising as solid concrete. If the Browns would just for once stop being the Browns, I would argue that they could maybe even rip off a Super Bowl run with this bunch.
However, it is quite difficult for a team to be fabricated perfectly, and we see that when looking at the defensive lineup for Cleveland. There’s the…controversial Myles Garrett. Beyond that, there doesn’t appear to be an abundance of big playmakers, at least none that are capable of consistently holding offenses like the ones of Pittsburgh and Baltimore at bay. With there being so little star power on the defense, that made my decision to focus on the Browns offensive brigade all the more comfortable in my mind.
Back to the whole Super Bowl thing, if Cleveland prioritizes the task of building up their defensive solidity, and if perhaps their QB starts playing as elite as he thinks he does, then such an achievement could truly be within their grasp. At that point, the entire NFL, not just the Steelers, should be on notice.
