While the Steelers are bringing back veteran B.J. Finney, it likely won’t stop the Steelers from addressing the center position early in the draft. There are quite a few options between rounds 2-4, but Josh Myers may be one of the best overall players if he fell that far into the second. Myers is a run blocker first but has the traits to develop into a good all-around center.

The retirement of Maurkice Pouncey has left quite the hole at the center position, so adding a few capable bodies is a must. Finney gives them a capable starter in the short term, but a player like Myers could be a starter for years. He needs a little development, yes, but that shouldn’t inhibit the team from getting him on the field sooner than later.

Given his tenacity as a run blocker, he should also help improve this pitiful unit in 2021. It won’t matter what back is getting carries if they are playing behind the same blockers. Myers would be a breath of fresh air for this group and help rebuild them for the next starting running back. Myers has a lot to like about his game, and he should provide a huge boost to the run game efficiency.
