Willie Snead, Wide Receiver

Willie Snead is one tough player that has his best snaps in the slot-receiver role. JuJu Smith-Schuster will be leaving in free agency even though his market seems a lot less than most expected heading into the frenzy. Signing Snead would take the pressure off of drafting a receiver in the earlier rounds and add a much-needed veteran presence to the very young positional room. He is not going to wow anyone with his stats since he is not an explosive player but he will make the tough catches over the middle and that is what this offense needs.

They have explosive playmakers like Chase Claypool, James Washington, and Diontae Johnson but they still need that toughness. Smith-Schuster was able to provide that physicality over the years and it is something the team needs to find a replacement for. Snead will not play over the three names currently on the roster but coming into the game and making a tough catch over the middle to pick up a crucial first down will be a big-time factor on this team. He would be a great role player on the Steelers and his market should be small. That means he could be signed for a very cheap and for the short-term.
