While offensive tackle is progressively becoming less and less of a need, the team still is showing interest in a lot of the top tackles right now. While Zach Banner should be penciled in as one of the starters at tackle, the other spot is more up in the air. The team could role with Chukwuma Okorafor or could opt for a high-round rookie. Instead of either of those though, trading for Orlando Brown could secure that position.

Brown has publicly stated he wants a trade since he wants to play left tackle on a team. While Banner or Okorafor could be penciled in as a left tackle, both are better suited on the right side. This would allow Brown to come in and command the left tackle spot. He is a mauling run blocker and held up well in pass protection this past season. He would be a huge upgrade for a team looking to run the ball more.

He won’t come cheaply though, as he would likely cost the Steelers their first-round pick. His market can’t be much more than that, s evident by the lack of a deal getting done so far. If the Steelers are set on using their top pick on a tackle, trading for Brown would be a surer thing. The team has future cap space that they can use on an extension as well, ensuring that the team gets multiple years out of Brown.
