The Steelers have lost many to the free agency waters but this is for those we have lost this offseason but will never forget.

It has been a tough offseason for the Steelers with all of the different turnover that they have endured. It will be an interesting couple of months before the workouts on the grass fields begin. The black and gold still have a lot of work to do from the remaining free agent time and draft to fill voids left behind. It will be tricky to replace these big-name players going forward and that will be a tall task to fulfill. Every year the team loses free agents to other franchises across the NFL because the cap issues arise. Pittsburgh was in a world of hurt as they saw many of their own depart from the team through different pathways.

Some left via free agency and decided to join other clubs on well-deserved contracts while others were sent packing as the team released them from their respective contracts. It was a cap casualty type of offseason as the Steelers could not afford to keep many of their own. With the cap number not helping their cause, this team had to find creative ways to get under the cap and lower that number even more to re-sign their own players.

This piece is about all of those men of steel that are not returning back to the team from last year. It is a sad day as fans must mourn the loss of fan-favorites that will no longer call the Steel City their home. They will be on new teams this upcoming season and many fans will always wish these players were able to stay in the colors that Pittsburghers adore.
