Al Villanueva, Offensive Tackle

This could very well be an actual option for the Steelers before they wrap up their free agency spending. Al Villanueva has been a solid starting left tackle over the past handful of seasons for the team. He has formed great bonds with his teammates including Ben Roethlisberger. There is a giant vacancy on the left side of that line currently and it seems like the team will try and address it during the draft. If they cannot then perhaps bringing the former Army Ranger back would be a potential option. Roethlisberger has lost one of his favorite teammates in Maurkice Pouncey this offseason and losing Villanueva would be another tough loss. Pittsburgh might try and bring this tackle back to help make their quarterback happy.

The draft is going to be a major factor in what this team has to do with the remainder of free agency this offseason. Ed Bouchette of the Athletic has reported that the team is still potentially interested in bringing the veteran back on a deal and it seems like it could becoming more of a possibility. He did not have his best season last year but he would bring back stability at a position that is currently lacking in that department.

The Steelers still need to figure out what to do with some free agents still out on the open market. They have time and they will address their issues through signings and the draft this month.
