C Creed Humphrey, Oklahoma State

The Steelers have expressed some level of interest in Oklahoma center, Creed Humphrey. However, it’s not nearly as much as I had hoped for. Though Pittsburgh had the ability to send their top dogs to watch Humphrey at his Pro Day, they didn’t send anyone worth noting. In fact, not even offensive line coach, Adrian Klemm was on hand, as he was busy scouting North Dakota State offensive tackle,  Dillon Radunz. Instead, the Steelers sent their secondary offensive line coach to Oklahoma.

In addition to the absence of Mike Tomlin and Kevin Colbert for his Pro Day, there has been no record of Humphrey receiving a virtual visit with the team. This certainly comes as a surprise, as many fans and analysts agree that center is one of the weakest positions on Pittsburgh’s roster.

After an impressive 2020 campaign, Humphrey tested out as one of the most athletic center prospects ever according to his RAS score. Still, after Maurkice Pouncey retired and having just B.J. Finney and J.C. Hassenauer on the roster, we would have thought that Pittsburgh would have interest in adding a plug-and-play starter. Perhaps they think the 24th overall pick is a bit too rich for a player like Creed Humphrey, but this is a guy I wish the team had more interest in.
