Acquiring depth at outside linebacker

Bud Dupree left in free agency and that was not a shocker to anyone as he commanded a huge market. The issue is not with just Dupree leaving but with the depth behind him that also was let go. Alex Highsmith and T.J. Watt seem to make for a promising young tandem on the outside edge positions for this Steelers defense. However, those that sit behind them on the depth chart are few and far between. This team needs to find nice pieces to come onto the field and give these two a breather and provide some nice special teams play when they’re called upon. The issue is not with those coming into the season as the starters but with those that are behind them. Finding cheap depth in free agency is sometimes hard to find but this team needs to be looking long and hard.

The draft seems like a more possible option of the two since you can get a nice player in the third to mid-rounds of the event. Someone that can do what Highsmith did last season and make some plays and give the starters a rest at certain points in a game. The rookie would not have to endure a steep learning curve as he would be a situational piece on this team instead of an instant starter.
