Azeez Ojulari, EDGE, Georgia

I might be in the minority here, but I am 100 percent on board with the Steelers selecting Azeez Ojulari if he were to fall to the 24th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Many fans are furious at the fact the Pittsburgh’s brass has visited with so many of the top edge defenders this year, and I can understand that. Though the Steelers lost Bud Dupree and Ola Adeniyi this offseason, Alex Highsmith is coming off a very impressive rookie season.

However, even if Highsmith turned out to be the answer they are looking for on the edge, Pittsburgh knows how important this position is to the success of their defense, and their depth is arguably the worst in the league right now.

Ojulari is still 20 years old and was a stud for Georgia last year. In addition to testing as an 81st percentile athlete at his Georgia Pro Day, according to Relative Athletic Scores, Ojulari has terrific film and production that included 12.5 tackles for a loss and 9.5 sacks in just 10 games this past season. He also earned a 90.0 overall grade from Pro Football Focus last season – good for 5th in the country out of 455 qualifying edge defenders. Ojulari should be off the board by this point, but I can certainly see a scenario in which he falls to the Steelers, and I would be all for this at pick 24.
