This one at least makes some sense to me, as Wyatt Davis could help the Steelers out along the offense line, but this would still leave me scratching my head. At this time last year, Davis was a player that a lot of draft analysts were high on. The former high recruit was very impressive in 2019 but didn’t come close to making the jump many thought he would last year.

In addition, Davis played offensive guard for the Buckeye’s – a position that the Steelers don’t necessarily need at the time being with David DeCastro still around. Davis’ tape just looks like a day-two player to me, but the fact that Pittsburgh’s brass was on hand to see him at his Pro Day suggests that he could be taken as high as the first round this year.

Davis has a solid frame and carries his weight well, and perhaps the Steelers think they could transition him to center. However, this just seems really rich for my blood, and I would have to say that I would be disappointed with this at pick 24. Still, as an athletic underclassman, Davis checks almost all of the boxes the Steelers look for in a first-round pick.

The NFL Draft is quickly approaching, and we have been disappointed in the past. While a vast majority of fans want the Steelers to take Najee Harris, he finds himself on my list of worst-case scenarios this year. I’m hoping Pittsburgh avoids the four players on this list in round one.
