4 players Steelers are unlikely to take in NFL Draft after recent signings

Kellen Mond, QB, Texas A&M
Let’s be honest with ourselves: the chances of the Steelers landing a player like Kellen Mond didn’t seem very good to begin with. After a strong Senior Bowl week and impressive Pro Day, there are many who believe that Mond could now be a likely second-round pick.
The Steelers know that they are in a closing Super Bowl window. Despite the fact that they had representatives meet with Mond this offseason, it seems unlikely that they would be willing to spend such high draft capital to get a developmental quarterback this year.
Now, it seems like that chance is almost gone completely. After already having Ben Roethlisberger, Mason Rudolph, and Dwayne Haskins on the roster, the Steelers re-signed quarterback Joshua Dobbs to a one-year deal. Simple math will tell you that the team will already be forced to cut one of these players and stash them on the practice squad for the regular season. If Pittsburgh were to draft another, they would need to get rid of two players from this list. This just doesn’t look like the year Pittsburgh will land a quarterback.
There are a few other players who no doubt had their chances of being drafted by the Steelers drop after Pittsburgh’s recent signings. However, these four don’t seem to stand much of a chance of wearing black and gold next year, as the team would be forced to spend too much draft capital early in the NFL Draft on positions that are suddenly very deep.
