What could the Steelers use for trade bait?

Then the Steelers have the 55th selection. At this selection, assuming they solidified the running back position, then they could still possibly pick up Alex Leatherwood, Liam Eichenberg, Jalen Mayfield, or Walker Little at the tackle spot. Centers become a bit weaker here; they may only have Meinerz or Myers as an option. As far as edge rushers, they could get Payton Turner, Joe Tyron, or Ronnie Perkins. However, if they wanted to address the linebacker spot, they could still get Nick Bolton or Baron Browning. They could go for the best player on the board and have a shot at Elijah Moore, Rondale Moore, or even Kadarius Toney at the wide receiver position.

If they have not secured a running back, they would need to do so here. The Steelers’ options would still be Gainwell, Carter, Sermon, and Hubbard. If they did not draft a running back here, then the pickings would be slim at that position as the draft progresses. Plus, if need be, Kyle Trask or Kellen Bond would still be available here if they want a backup for Ben Roethlisberger.

This scenario gives the Steelers the option to address many of their needs quickly.  Plus, considering they brought back JuJu Smith-Schuster, they could still make a run as they did in 2020, albeit not win 11 straight games. How would they pull this caper off if they chose to try it?

That’s much harder to say. They would certainly have to sacrifice some later selection in the 2021 draft, which honestly would defeat the purpose of trading for one of those slots. They could trade a player, not that there are many they could spare. Perhaps James Washington, Benny Snell, or Anthony McFarland if the Steelers are drafting a running back with their 24th selection. Which then leaves future draft selections. Supposing they spread out over the 2022 and 2023 draft possibly.
