Steelers mock draft round 6: Jaylon Moore

Despite his small-school status and small frame, it’s entirely possible that Western Michigan offensive tackle, Jaylon Moore, is off the board at this point due to his plus athletic testing and solid senior bowl week. If he were to be here at this point, however, the Steelers could pounce on him. Moore is the perfect type of offensive lineman to take a chance on with a late-round pick. He has some Kelvin Beachum qualities that could help him stick around and develop into a starter down the road.

Steelers mock draft round 6: Grant Stuard

Grant Stuard is an undersized linebacker who doesn’t possess a ton of athletic upside. However, that didn’t stop them from taking a player like Tyler Matakevich late in the 2016 NFL Draft. Pittsburgh values special teams as much as anyone Stuard is a feisty competitor – even at 5’11” and 225 pounds. He will go all out on every play, and the Steelers will love that about him.

Steelers mock draft round 7: Ben Skowronek

Ben Skowronek may not have a lot of future upside as a player who turns 24 this June, but that doesn’t mean he’s not worth this pick. With a lot of talent to go around on Notre Dame’s offense, Skowronek gets lost in the shuffle, but he’s a very good athlete. As a 6’3”, 220-pound receiver who can run, Skowronek holds value on special teams. He also averaged over 15 yards per catch and earned 5 touchdowns last season for the Fighting Irish.

The Steelers could prove to go an entirely different route than this in the NFL Draft this year, but this mock would have Pittsburgh filling their biggest needs early and give their offense an immediate boost in 2021.
